• Evelina Sarapi

Evelina Sarapi is a graduate of the MA in Political Science- United Nations and Global Policy Studies (UNMA) program at Rutgers University. Her research has focused on human rights, immigration law, international law, and democracy, while placing an emphasis on asylum and refugees. During her studies at UNMA, Evelina presented research focused on gender-based violence within refugee camps, while also examining how attacks on human rights can be detrimental to the foundations of democracy. 

In addition to her academic work, Evelina also worked as a Graduate Assistant, alongside UNMA Director, Dr. Roland Rich, in drafting monthly newsletter reports focused on the United Nations. Evelina also served as a Student Ambassador for the M.A. program, representing the political science department and UNMA during campus recruiting events for prospective students. 

Evelina has both academic and professional experience in the field of immigration, as she has worked as an immigration paralegal in the past. Today, Evelina is working in the Asylum Division at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
