Hilal is a graduate of the Political Science Department at Rutgers University. A Fulbright scholar and graduate exchange student from the University of Konstanz in Germany, she has focused primarily on Organizational Behavior, International Security, and Human Rights throughout graduate school. While at Rutgers, Hilal also participated in the Inter-University Doctoral Consortium at Princeton University and worked as a research assistant for the Global Populism Project. Currently, she is particularly interested in the challenges of migration and integration policy, as well as the dynamics of autocratization and populism. After graduation, Hilal hopes to gain further experience as a consultant and continue working on inclusive policy development, ideally within international organizations or research-driven consulting environments. Her long-term goal is to help design solutions that address global inequality and strengthen democratic resilience.
