Rachel Guerreiro is an M.A. candidate at the School of Graduate Studies, Rutgers–New Brunswick, pursuing a Master of Arts in United Nations and Global Policy Studies (UNMA) in the Department of Political Science. She currently serves as Program Coordinator at the NGO Committee on the Status of Women, where she leads personnel recruitment and mentorship, program development, and strategic coordination to advance gender equality within international policy spaces.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in International and Global Studies from Rutgers University. Her academic work focuses on global governance, civil society participation, and the role of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in multilateral institutions. She recently completed a research paper analyzing how NGO engagement in United Nations mechanisms contributes to democratic legitimacy and accountability in global policymaking.
With a professional background rooted in nonprofit coordination and advocacy, she brings experience in organizational leadership, stakeholder engagement, and cross-cultural collaboration. Her work is driven by a strong commitment to global gender equality and creating meaningful youth engagement opportunities in international decision-making. She hopes to continue contributing to more inclusive and equitable policy processes through research, advocacy, and institutional development.
In addition to her academic and professional commitments, she is an avid traveler, language learner, gardener, and DJ. She values creative expression as a form of cultural dialogue and community connection.
