• Güzide G. Özalp

Guzide Ozalp is a graduate of the MA in Political Science – United Nations and Global Policy Studies (UNMA) program at Rutgers University. Her research focuses on gender politics, international organizations, and human rights, with a particular emphasis on gender-based violence. As a graduate student in the program, she presented her research papers on gender-based violence, focusing on the Istanbul Convention, and the impact of populist leaders on democracy through academic presentations.

At Rutgers, she served as the Graduate Assistant for the UNMA program and as a Student Ambassador, supporting community engagement, event planning, and student outreach. She also worked as a Research Assistant at the Joseph C. Cornwall Center for Metropolitan Studies, contributing to projects on urban equity and community development. 

With a strong foundation in research, strategic communications, and nonprofit development, including program design, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning, Guzide aspires to build a career in the NGO sector, leading initiatives that promote sustainable and transformative policy change.
