BIO:
Leonhard is currently pursuing his Master of Arts in Political Science - Concentration in the United Nations and Global Policy Studies (UNMA Program) at Rutgers University - New Brunswick. Before that, he completed a Master of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany. In an internship in the German Parliament, he gained valuable experience in real-life policymaking.
Leonhard is particularly interested in international relations and global policy. Here, he focuses on the interplay of globalization, great power rivalry, and the international system, as well as on the EU´s global policy and on what role the UN can play today. This interest is motivated by a desire to understand how values like freedom, democracy, and equality can be empowered in a seemingly evermore complex world.
After graduation, Leonhard wants to pursue a PhD, before eventually working for a Think-Tank focusing on foreign policy. He speaks German and English fluently, and has basic knowledge of Italian and Spanish.
In his free time, Leonhard loves to travel and spend time with his friends, ideally travelling together to experience new cultures, environments, and lifestyles.
