Güzide Özalp, a Turkish Graduate Student, is pursuing her Master of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in United Nations and Global Policy Studies at Rutgers. Güzide is currently working as a Graduate Assistant in the UNMA Program. She also worked as a Research Assistant at the Joseph C. Cornwall Center for Metropolitan Studies at Rutgers University.
Before joining the UNMA program, Güzide was a Writer and Media Manager at Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Türkiye (2022-2023). In this role, she authored reports on Türkiye’s internal and external affairs and event outcomes, managed social media accounts, and acted as the Editor for the organization's website. At the Turkiye International Relations and Strategic Research Academy (2020–2021), she was an Executive Board Member and interned in civil society studies. As the President and Founding Member of the AHBVU Model United Nations Community (2019–2022), she managed projects, coordinated events, and collaborated closely with advisors and organizations. Additionally, she served as Vice Editor in Chief of The FEAS Journal from 2020 to 2022, focusing on publications in political and social sciences.
Güzide is passionate about international law, women's rights, and gender equality. She's driven by the belief that "women's rights are human rights" and is focused on working to address the inequalities women face worldwide. She speaks both Turkish and English. Her hobbies include reading fantasy novels, watching documentaries, and traveling.
