    Charles Jacob joined the Rutgers College department in 1967, having previously been at Vassar College for seven years. He attended the University of Michigan as an undergraduate, and received his Ph.D. from Cornell. His teaching and scholarly fields were public administration and policy, and the presidency. He played an important role in the reorganization of political science at Rutgers and in the creation of the department as it is now constituted.
