Diplomats-in-training who visit the UN during the General Assembly each fall and who would require 2-5 day intensive courses offered by Rutgers faculty
Non-matriculated UN agency employees who will enroll in individual courses whose content reflects their professional specializations
UN employees interested in a general overview of the UN through a two course Certificate Program (to be developed should the concentration be successful)
Any qualified student interested in the content and professional career opportunities offered by the proposed MA concentration, including the fields of international business, international law, international education, non-governmental organizations, international mediation and peace-building.

In-depth focus on the UN and Global Policy Studies

Our program offers a greater focus on the UN and the larger global public policy debates than any other New York City area MA program.
Our large cohort of prominent faculty will offer courses of the highest quality and standards.
Our program facilitates research that links course offerings to research on UN Millennium Goals, policies and policy implementation.
Our program partners with the UN University, UNITAR and other relevant agencies to organize workshops and conferences on cutting-edge UN issues as well as advanced analysis of global public policy issues.

The program’s research activities will further integrate the program’s two foci: theory and method, and policy applications. The integration of theoretical and conceptual concerns with policy analysis makes our curriculum highly attractive to UN personnel, recent undergraduates, and other career professionals.

Unparalleled student support services

Students will have full access to the Rutgers University libraries and databases, as well as Marymount Manhattan College and may access books and articles directly or through Internet access. Books can be sent to students’ home addresses. Dr. Thomas Glynn, Political Science and History Bibliographer, will serve as program Librarian and provide research and bibliographic services.
