Katie Shapiro was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. Katie received her bachelor's degree in Political Science from The University of North Florida in 2018, and went on to earn her Masters of Arts in International Studies from The Graduate Center, CUNY. After studying at The University of Florida for a year, Shapiro joined Rutgers' Political Science PhD program, where she researches conflict termination and US foreign policy. Her first field is international relations, and second field is comparative politics.
