    Jing Yang is a Ph.D. candidate studying authoritarian institutions in China, with emphasis on law-making and judicial systems. Her dissertation analyzes recent judicial centralization reforms and their implications for judicial autonomy within the party-state framework. Beyond her dissertation, she studies women's political participation in China and state responses to gender-related issues. She holds a BA from China and an MA in Political Science from Duke University.
