Emma is a PhD student studying the intersection of gender and politics through U.S. elections. She has presented at various conferences including MSPA and APSA on how that intersection is mediated by race, ethnicity, and the politics of political parties. Prior to graduate school, Emma worked in the Massachusetts State House as the Research Director of Economic Development and Emerging Technologies, and also has experience working on campaigns. She graduated from Smith College in 2019 with a BA with honors in Government and a minor in Psychology.
