Michael is a Ph.D. candidate at Rutgers University where he studies political psychology and race and ethnic politics. Michael's dissertation research investigates how Black social networks and institutions influence Black political attitude formation. His other projects include examining descriptive and substantive political representation by Black political elites. Michael holds a B.A. from Beloit College and is a Ralphe Bunche Summer Institute Scholar, American Political Science Association Minority Fellow, and American Political Science Association Distinguished Junior Scholar in Political Psychology. His teaching interest include American Politics, Public Opinion, Race and Ethnic Politics, and Quantitative Methods."
