Javeria Rehman joined the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to The United Nations, New York as a political advising intern in the Summer 2023. She provides ongoing advice to Pakistani officials on issues related to identity, high-level communications, advocacy, social mobilization, and strategic planning. During her Internship, Javeria works with the Information Press and Media Department, covering the daily press briefing of the United Nations, and preparing transcripts, videos, and press releases. Her duties also include providing technical input to meeting agendas and preparation of technical papers and documents such as newsletters, slide shows, presentations, communications, speeches, and others as requested.

Reflecting on her experience with the Permanent Mission of Pakistan, Javeria noted: “Recently, I was honored to attend the 78th UNGA session at the United Nations. It was a matter of great pride to be a part of the high-level week and to attend the speeches made by world leaders, heads of states, and governments. The experience provided me with vast knowledge about the multilateral discussions on the international issues covered in the Charter of the United Nations. The experience at the UNGA 78th session instilled in me the ability to talk about how the world can achieve sustainable development goals and explore solutions to face the challenges toward peace, prosperity, security, and sustainability for everyone. The UN brings together individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures. This offers educators such as me an exclusive opportunity to work with people globally, promoting cultural exchange and understanding. This cross-multicultural alliance can enrich educational initiatives and promote global social responsibility.”
