May 2022 Graduate, Grace Lewis has a few weeks remaining at her public relations internship in New York City. Her main account is a start-up carbon management company seeking to accelerate carbon tracking across the entire supply chain, including Scope 3 emissions. In her role, Grace conducts a large amount of research into the specifics of carbon tracking in the private and public sector, how industry trends and news impacts her account (for example, the pending SEC ruling), and how ultimately companies need to meet their consumers climate-conscious desires. Grace has two other accounts that follow a more traditional B2C public relations format. Her responsibilities within those two are primarily to track, report, and locate any relevant material that will optimize the operation of those accounts. Grace has a strong interest in how quality communication works within political science - she believes it is fundamentally important that the conversations taking place about our climate, politics, and global affairs are appropriately portrayed to the wider public. While Grace enjoys the last moments at her internship she is actively working on her final paper for course credit. The topic of her paper is ’The Importance of Tracking Scope 3 Emissions in the Private Sector.’
