Madina Mamyrbekova is an IRC (International Rescue Committee), resettlement caseworker intern working with refugees, asylums, parolees and SIV (Special Immigrant Visa) holders. It is known that Afghanistan is facing one of the world’s fastest growing humanitarian crises, and the IRC offices are helping newly-arrived Afghans, including those who worked with the USA in Afghanistan. As a resettlement intern Madina is assisting to resettle Afghan refugees with housing, employment, health care, education, and other comprehensive services. Madina is working with the team to provide ongoing assistance to refugee clients as part of holistic case management. Additionally, Madina is getting her hands on translating various legal documents and forms to Russian, Kazakh and Chinese to support ongoing immigration cases, as well as performing the assistance in the coordinating of public benefits, medical appointments, and other needs for clients according to their service plans. Finally, Madina researches potential community resources and provides referrals to new and existing partners within the community. Overall, by pursuing her career in International Organizations, Madina is massively contributing to make a difference in nation-states that are in dire need of global assistance.
