Michelle-Adames Sucameli presented her research on the UN response to US unilateralism following Operation Iraqi Freedom at the 2019 Rutgers University Division of Global Affairs Conference: Security in International Affairs, Current Considerations, New Directions. Michelle's panel, Great Powers and the Hot Peace in the Nuclear Age, analyzed the changing role of the United Nations in engaging with security enforcement. Her presentation looked at the UN response to Operation Iraqi Freedom as well as the increased unilateralism of the P5 Security Council Members following the invasion.

Investigating the recommendations of The High-Level Panel on Challenges, Threats and Change; The French Initiative of 2013 and; The Elders proposal of 2015, Michelle's presentation examined the viability of their recommendations along with the political will to see them achieved. She concluded by recommending tangible ways forward for the UNSC through economic, social and political engagement so that they may continue to enforce their mandate, "to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war which twice in our lifetime has brought untold sorrow to mankind."
