BIO:
Anastasia Perez is a first-year M.A. candidate in Political Science at Rutgers University, specializing in U.N. and Global Policy Studies. She graduated from Loyola University New Orleans with a B.A. in History in 2022 and then moved to South Korea, where she taught English to elementary students for nearly two years.
Anastasia has a diverse research background, having served as a research assistant for the chair of the History Department during her undergraduate years and as an investigative intern at the Orleans Public Defenders Office. She is fluent in Spanish and has working proficiency in French, with elementary proficiency in Korean. Currently, she is studying Arabic to expand her language skills further. Her research interests include big data, cybersecurity, and the intersection of technology and democracy. Anastasia is mainly focused on how these areas shape global governance and policy. An avid traveler, she seeks opportunities to engage with diverse communities and perspectives while applying her expertise in international affairs. She aspires to work as a policy analyst at a think tank or pursue a Ph.D. to continue her academic journey.
