My name is Javeria Rehman, and I am a Final Year graduate student in UNMA program at Rutgers University. I am also Kindergarten Teacher in Private school and have eight years of experience in school environment and working with the children I have decided to pursue my master’s degree in political science (UNMA) so that I can use my experience to enhance my career in the related field and become a public affair, political affairs, foreign affairs policy expert or foreign service official. Furthermore, I worked at the Consulate General of Pakistan and provided administrative and logistic support about the political events, I have assisted with Visa applications and has worked extensively in the passport section and other consular duties. This experience has further polished my skills and I did more administrative work at the accounting department with payment, payrolls, maintenance, and other HR issues. 

Moreover, recently this summer I had an opportunity to become an intern for Pakistan Mission to the United Nations, New York. I worked with the information and communications department and covered most of the UN press conferences on a daily basis and have written press releases and newsletters as well as presentations. I have Provided ongoing advice to Pakistan officials on issues related to identity, internal working mechanisms, high level communications and advocacy, social mobilization, and strategic planning.   

My experiences have fueled my passion for advocacy, particularly for the rights and opportunities of underprivileged individuals and minority communities.  I am proficient in English, Urdu, and Punjabi Language. In the face of adversity, I have learned that there is no challenge too great and no obstacle too insurmountable when you have the love of family and the drive to create a better life. My story is a testament to the power of perseverance, love, and the unwavering belief that, no matter the odds, one can rise above adversity and build a life filled with hope, opportunity, and success.
