Aliaa Metawee is a Master’s degree candidate in United Nations and Global Policy Studies at Rutgers University. Prior to attending Rutgers University, she completed a bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies from Berkeley College as an Honors College Scholar in 2019. Currently, she works for the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City.
She maintained her interest in political science and justice during the Arab Spring in 2011 which motivated her to do good by those who are oppressed daily and have their basic human rights stripped from them.
Post-graduation Aliaa aims to work with organizations such as the United Nations, Amnesty International and the Human Rights Watch as they advocate for human rights for all. She hopes through her knowledge she can make a difference in the world one day and be a voice for the voiceless and stand against all forms of oppression.
