BIO:

Viktoria Maciaga is a first year UNMA student, with a concentration in human rights and international law. She graduated Magna Cum laude from Rutgers University in May 2020 with a BA in Political Science and a minor in International and Global Studies. During her undergraduate studies she was a member of Douglass Residential College for women, and was inducted into Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society. Her interests in public policy, international affairs and law, as well as human rights have made her want to continue her education. She is very interested in research and during her undergraduate studies one of her research papers, “Drug Policy Undermines the Right to Healthcare: The Role of International Human Rights in the United States”, was chosen to be presented at the Undergraduate Research Writing Conference.

She has done volunteer work for New Jersey Reentry Corporation, a non-profit agency “with a social mission to remove all barriers to employment for citizens returning from incarceration”, and will now be starting a full time job with a police training program, while also applying for internships with the State Department as well as the Economist. She is bilingual, fluent in both Polish and English, and proficient in German.
