Bio:

Tamara Lazarus is a graduate student of the Department of Political Science at the Rutgers University in United Nations and Global Policy with the concentration in International law and Conflict Resolution. Born and raised in Georgia, she holds undergraduate degrees from Tbilisi State University in International Relations (B.A), and Rutgers University in Political Science and European Studies (B.A) as an international student.

At Rutgers, in the Masters program Tamara was a Global Scholar, studying abroad at the European Summer Institute in Kassel, Germany where she partook in research, expert interviews and panels with high level EU staff, including members of EU Commission, EU Parliament and interest groups. She also interned in United Nations Office of the Ombudsman and Mediation Services, where she supported the operations of the Regional Office by assisting with conflict analysis, reviewing jurisprudence and regularly participating in team meetings. She conducted research and drafted correspondence in support of the Regional Office mandate. Tamara Observed ombudsman sessions and acquired practical knowledge how concerns are addressed and explored in an organizational setting. She also participated in case debriefs where ombudsman and mediators regularly discussed systemic and practice issues.

Tamara is fluent in Georgian, English and Russian, and proficient in French.
