Martin Pardo is a master’s degree recipient in the MA Program in Political Science - United Nations and Global Policy Studies (UNMA). Prior to the UNMA he achieved a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a Minor in French from Rutgers University. While a student in the UNMA he developed interests in the concentrations of democracy promotion and political development in the context of Global South countries, particularly those of Latin America. He hopes to translate the results and knowledge of his academic research into his future professional work.

As a Research Assistant, he has contributed to a book project under the direction of Dr. Eric Davis on the topic of emerging trends in global populism and illiberal democracy through the study of multiple countries. In this role he has focused primarily on research on France, analyzing relevant articles and compiling historical polling data on political and sociocultural attitudes.

In addition to his Minor in French, Martin is also a native Spanish speaker and can read Portuguese. These languages skills have given him access to a broad range of research materials from which to draw upon.
