Biography: Erik Voeten is the Peter F. Krogh Professor of Geopolitics and Justice in World Affairs in the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. Voeten’s research examines the role of international institutions and law in international affairs. His work on the United Nations, the European Union, the European Court of Human Rights and broader issues of international law and cooperation has been published in the American Political Science Review, the American Journal of Political Science, American Journal of International Law, International Organization, International Studies Quarterly, the Journal of Politics, and the Journal of Conflict Resolution, among other journals. Voeten was the editor-in-chief of International Organization and a founding editor of Research and Politics as well as a contributing editor of the Washington Post's Monkey Cage. He teaches classes on international relations theory, international institutions, and statistical methods. His recent book, Ideology and International Institutions, appeared with Princeton University Press in January 2021.
