Synopsis: This course examines the gender dimensions of international development in theory and in practice.  Through a comparative analysis of women’s position in social, political and economic networks of exchange, we will reconsider what it means to live in a globalized world. Topics covered will include industrial labor, rural development, environmental justice, migrant labor, sex work, trafficking, and family planning policies.
