ACADEMIC CALENDAR FOR SPRING TERM 2012



 

Continuing students may use the on-line registration system (http://webreg.rutgers.edu/) to register until Friday, January 13, 2012.   New students admitted for Spring 2012 may register in person at the Graduate Registrar through Monday, January 23, 2012 without a late fee.

 

Permission from the Office of the Dean is required for: undergraduates wishing to enroll in graduate courses, credit overloads (17 credits or more including assistantship credits), and courses at Princeton, University of Pennsylvania, Inter-University Doctoral Consortium, RWJ Medical School, School of Public Health,  NB Theological Seminary, Drew University, NJIT.

                                                                                                                                                            

December - January

To activate your registration you must pay and submit your term bill. Once you have registered, your term bill will be available on-line http//www.studentabc.rutgers.edu and you will be able to confirm your attendance or make payment.  Payment can be made on-line, by mail or in person at your local Cashier's office.  To avoid late payment fees students are advised to pay immediately.  Late payment fees are now $125.00.  Payroll deduction is available for most students on assistantships or fellowships. Payment plans are available and to enroll visit the following website:  https://tuition.uasecho.com.

 

Friday, January 6, 2012

Last Day for submission and approval of completed theses and dissertations electronically and/or candidacy forms to receive a January degree.  Students who previously filed a diploma application for October 2011 must file a new diploma application by this date.

Friday, January 13, 2012

Deadline for Spring registration.  After this date, students will be charged $50.00 late registration fee. 

New Students admitted for Spring 2012 may register until Monday, January 23rd.

                       

Tuesday, January 17, 2012

Spring term begins.  Complete withdrawals from the University on or after this date yield prorated refunds during the first six weeks of the semester.  Courses with less than five students are subject to cancellation.

 

Friday, January 27, 2012

Last day to register for the Saturday, February 11th foreign language exam.  Information and applications for these exams may be obtained from the Language Lab website:  http://languageinstitute.rutgers.edu/proficiency.htm

 

Tuesday, January 24, 2012

Last day students may drop courses without a W grade on the web.  An advisor’s approval is not required for course dropped through this date.  Any course dropped during this period will be removed from the transcript.

 

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

Last Day students may add courses without permission on the web.

 

Wednesday, January 25 - Monday, January 30, 2012

Students may drop courses without a W grade in person only at the Registrar’s Office, the  Graduate School-New Brunswick, or their graduate program office.   If students drop on the web a W will be posted and tuition will be charged.

 

Thursday, January 26 - Monday, January 30, 2012

Students may add courses without permission in person only at the Registrar’s Office, the Graduate School-New Brunswick, or their graduate program office. Students will not be able to add courses on the web.

Tuesday, January 31, 2012

As of this date, students must have the approval of an advisor and the Graduate School-New Brunswick in order to add course(s).  Adds must be done in person.

 

As of this date, drops result in a W being posted on the transcript and a tuition charge.  Drops will be possible on the web or in person through the 7th week of the term with a W grade and tuition charge.

Monday, March 5 - Tuesday, April 17, 2012

All requests for course drops and changes to audit/not for credit status (N credit) during this period must be approved by the Office of the Dean and must be accompanied by a letter from the instructor of the course indicating grade and/or academic status of the student as of that date.  Only students in good academic standing will be permitted to withdraw.  A “W” will be posted on the transcript.  Students are subject to failing grades at the discretion of the instructor.

 

Thursday, March 15, 2012

Last day to file a diploma application for a May dated degree.  Students who did not complete degree requirements for a previously filed January 2012 degree date must file a new diploma application by this date.  The diploma website: https://www.ugadmissions.rutgers.edu/DIPLOMA/Default.aspx

 

Wednesday, April 18, 2012

No further course withdrawals or changes to audit/not for credit (N credit) status will be approved as of this date.

End of term

Change of INC grades for Spring term 2012 must be received the Office of the Dean by this date.

Application forms for extension of time on INC grades are available.

Last day to submit grade rosters.

Research (700 level) and N-prefix registrations are to be graded either S (satisfactory), U (unsatisfactory), or INC (incomplete).  Grades of “NG” (no grade given) will be posted by the Graduate Registrar for any grades left blank on rosters. “NG” converts to an “F” grade at the end of the next term.  Students who have not completed work should be given an INC.  Students who did not attend the course should be referred to the Office of the Dean.
