Bio

Before coming to Rutgers, Heather worked as an Evaluation Consultant at the New York Women’s Foundation and conducted a self-guided video ethnography of girls’ lives at the Girl Scouts Research Institute. Heather has served in various volunteer capacities, most recently as Secretary and Women's Issue Committee Chair of the Manhattan Young Democrats and as a member of the Planned Parenthood New York City Activist Council. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the White Roof Project. Heather has a BA in Political Science and Spanish and an MA in Women’s Studies.

Heather's research interests include American political institutions, parties, state politics, and public policy. Heather is interested in the intersection of gender and political candidacy and public policy formation.
