Synopsis: To the extent that politics is about individual actors, politics is about psychology. This course will examine how psychological theories shed light on voting behavior, group solidarity and conflict, campaigns and the media, ideology, and other topics. Students who complete the course will acquire a better understanding of the relationship between individuals and the larger political system. No background in psychology is required.
