Synopsis: In this course we will investigate the legal and historical development of public policies as gendered social constructs. We will be starting with issues traditionally conceived as "women's issues," including reproductive rights and domestic violence. However we will also be engaging a range of topics such as marriage policy, international relations, and/or employment policy. A special focus will be places on the intersection of gender, sexual orientation, race, and class. Attendance is required and collaborative learning will be an integral element of the course.
