Synopsis: The course begins with a discussion of the origin of the Presidency and the development of presidential power over time. The limits of that power and the importance of presidential personality are also explored; followed by Presidential decision-making, the manner in which presidents are selected, and the relationship Presidents establish with their official families and their multiple constituencies. Concluding classes are devoted to presidential accountability, tenure and removal.
